It is part of a broader push by the U.S to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence, with celebrations, cultural events and public outreach campaigns planned in several countries.<\/p>\n<p>Announcing the initiative on social media last month, the U.S. Embassy posted, \u201cFreedom is on the move \u2026 literally!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It urged people in the capital to flag down the auto-rickshaws, saying, \u201cCatch them if you can \u2014 they\u2019ll be popping up all over Delhi soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Washington is seeking to stabilize relations with India after ties soured over Trump\u2019s tariff policies, which raised duties on several Indian exports. But he relented after organizers offered him a valuable inducement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said, \u2018Please let us put (the poster). We\u2019ll give you a packet of tea,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another driver, Pradeep Kumar, said he agreed to carry the poster mostly because the canopy of his auto-rickshaw was torn and needed covering.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Asked if he knew what the advertisement said, Kumar replied: \u201cI know he is Trump.
