A hooded man kicked down a bedroom door shouting \u201cICE! ICE!\u201d one immigrant recalled.<\/p><div><\/div><p>\u201cI raised my hands, and he asked, \u2018Where\u2019s the money?\u2019 That\u2019s when I realized it was a robbery. It wasn\u2019t ICE,\u201d the Mexican immigrant, who didn\u2019t share his name, said.<\/p><p><em><strong>This is Morning Rundown, a weekday newsletter to start your day. Although neither the federal government nor local authorities publish specific records on such crimes, an analysis by Noticias Telemundo, based on court records, police reports and news articles, suggests that the number has increased over the past year.<\/p><p>The investigation documented at least 31 impersonation cases in 2025 alone.
