In the wake of Savannah Guthrie releasing a new video pleading for the return of her mother, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos emphasized that the case is \u201cstill active\u201d nearly six months after Nancy Guthrie\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

There have been no major breaks in the case in the months since Nancy Guthrie, 84, went missing from her home near Tucson, Arizona, in the early hours of Feb. 1. The FBI said earlier on July 1 that Nancy Guthrie\u2019s disappearance continues to be investigated as a kidnapping for ransom case.<\/p>\n

Savannah posted a video message July 27 on Instagram, pleading with the person who may have taken her mother to \u201cdo the right thing\u201d and \u201ctell us where to look for her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nanos, who has been heading the investigation, spoke with NBC affiliate KVOA News 4 Tucson on July 27 after Savannah shared her most recent video. He stressed that Nancy Guthrie\u2019s disappearance has not become a cold case.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe still have DNA that\u2019s not just one lab or two labs,\u201d Nanos said. \u201cThese are labs all across the country that are talking to one another about how best to look at what they have in front of them for DNA evidence. And, so I\u2019m still positive we will resolve this case.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear why Savannah decided to release her latest message at this time. Law enforcement has not provided any major public updates on the investigation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re working this as hard as we can,\u201d Nanos said. \u201cThere\u2019s no lead too small. We, like Savannah today, we encourage you, if you know something, saw something, please let us know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Savannah\u2019s previous plea for help came on TODAY on June 23, when she spoke briefly after a report by NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz concerning a second note sent to media outlets following Nancy Guthrie\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is unusual and unprecedented to say the least, to be sitting here,\u201d Savannah said on TODAY following the report. \u201cI don\u2019t have any comment on this story, and I\u2019m not involved in our coverage, but I can\u2019t pretend I\u2019m not here.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so since I am, I want to just take the opportunity to ask people, to really to beg people to come forward,\u201d she continued. \u201cSomebody knows something, and this is a new story today that is on your radar, but this is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother lives, that our extended families live, that our children live, every day. And we are in agony. We cannot be at peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is urged to contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Savannah and her family are also offering a $1 million reward for the return of her mother.<\/p>\n
