Surrogacy agency owner used client funds to pay for vacations, gambling debts, indictment alleges

When a prominent surrogacy agency shuttered abruptly last year, many clients lost tens of thousands of dollars — and for some, their path to starting a family. Last week, the U.S. Justice Department charged the owner of the agency, Surro Connections, with fraud and money laundering.
