Trump administration gives DOJ civil rights unit a new job: Voter fraud

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division has for decades sent election monitors to polling places to protect voters from discrimination on the basis of race, disability or the language they speak. The Trump administration is retooling this effort for November’s midterm elections with an additional focus on voter fraud.
